This 1932 Ford is a hand-built, steel-bodied roadster between 2007 and 2010 as a contender for the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster competition at the Grand National Roadster Show. Built by Fred Stoke and Paul Shaugnessey, owner of New Metal Kustoms, and dubbed “Stoked”, it is powered by a supercharged 354ci Chrysler Hemi V8 with Hilborn electronic fuel injection, and the engine is linked to a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission and a quick-change rear end. It rides on a one-off, handcrafted chassis with drilled dropped axle, hairpin radius rods, polished ladder bars, and a buggy-style rear spring along with staggered custom aluminum wheels and four-wheel disc brakes. Spies Hecker Black Apple paintwork with 24-karat gold leaf accents and House of Kolor Kustom Maroon striping is complemented by hand-crafted dark red leather.
The car was displayed at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California, while competing for the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award.
The steel body is finished with Spies Hecker Black Apple paint with 24k gold leaf accents and House of Kolor’s Kustom Maroon striping applied by Courtney Schamach of Petaluma, California. The car features a one-off custom chrome grille and a louvered trunk lid. Custom-made V8-motif taillights were also fitted as part of the build along with dual exhaust outlets integrated into the roll pan, and a V-shaped spreader bar is used up front.
It rides on a one-off, handcrafted chassis with drilled dropped axle, hairpin radius rods, polished ladder bars, and a buggy-style rear sprin. Drum-look discs are mounted up front, and out back are cross-drilled and slotted rotors.
