The car was also refinished in black and fitted with a replacement black soft top, and the interior was refreshed with red and white upholstery. Other details include front disc brakes, power steering, a Sport Deck faux spare wheel cover, swiveling front bucket seats, and an Aero steering wheel.
The Fury was Plymouth’s top-of-the-line model for 1960 when a new unibody platform was introduced. This example is one of 7,080 convertibles produced for the model year. It was refinished in black in 2006, and exterior details include a replacement black canvas top, a curved windshield, dual fender-mounted mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and a Sport Deck faux spare wheel cover.
Replacement 15″ wire wheels are mounted with whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
Refurbishment work completed in 2023 involved retrimming the cabin in the factory style of red vinyl upholstery with patterned inserts and white accents. The swiveling front bucket seats are separated by a center fold-down armrest. The clock and push-button AM radio do not work.
The squared-off Aero steering wheel was refurbished under current ownership. An instrument pod located atop the tiered dash fascia houses the Teleview 120-mph speedometer along with directional indicators as well as battery and oil pressure warning lights. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles, approximately 1,400 of which were added under current ownership.
