51-Mile 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R

This 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R is one of 300 examples produced for the model year, and it was ordered new by the owner of Sayville Ford in New York. The car remained with its original owner, spending time displayed on the showroom floor, until 2025, and it now has 51 miles. It is finished in Performance Red over Dark Charcoal cloth upholstery and is powered by a 5.4-liter DOHC V8 linked with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes a removable front air dam, a cowl-induction hood, a rear wing, an independent rear suspension, Recaro sport seats, remote keyless entry, and power windows, mirrors, and locks.

All 2000 Cobra R models were finished in Performance Red (ES) and feature a “power dome” hood, a removable front splitter, integrated brake cooling ducts, extended side skirts, a rear wing, and quad side-exit exhaust outlets. Additional equipment includes black-surround headlights, and SVT and Cobra badging.

The 18″ five-spoke cast aluminum wheels are mounted with older BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD tires. The Cobra R package features an independent rear suspension along with Bilstein shocks, stiffer Eibach springs, and larger sway bars than the contemporary SN95 Mustang. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with four-piston Brembo front calipers.

The cabin features Recaro sport seats trimmed in Dark Charcoal cloth with Cobra R emblems embroidered into the backrests. Amenities include a leather-wrapped shift knob, remote keyless entry, and power windows, mirrors, and locks. To save weight, the Cobra R was not equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, a stereo, a rear seat, or sound-deadening materials.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and frames a 180-mph speedometer and a tachometer along with gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 51 miles. A September 2018 Carfax report entry notes the mileage as 70.
