About this car

Work included updating the 2.4-liter inline-six with various components, overhauling the suspension and brakes, coating the underside, replacing the weatherstripping, refurbishing the 14″ True Spoke wire wheels and wood-rimmed steering wheel, retrimming the interior in blue vinyl, and installing a JVC CD stereo and Rockford Fosgate speakers. The car rides on KYB shocks with Eibach springs and also features a four-speed manual transmission, dual ZTherapy SU carburetors, a Motosport Auto six-into-one exhaust manifold, a Z Car Garage exhaust system with a Magnaflow resonator, slotted front disc brakes, and rear window louvers.

Factory finished in Universal Blue (903), the car underwent a repaint in metallic blue in 2004 that included color-matching the rear window louvers. It features a front spoiler, dual side mirrors, chrome bumper guards. In 2020, the weatherstripping on the doors, windows, and rear hatch were replaced along with the door felt and runners.

The 14″ True Spoke wire wheels and knock-off spinners were refurbished by Z Car Garages before being mounted with Yokohama Avid Touring tires. The brakes were overhauled with Stoptech front slotted discs and pads and refurbished calipers, and rear turned aluminum drums and replacement shoes and wheel cylinders. In June 2025, the brake master and slave cylinders were replaced, and the brake fluid was flushed.

The suspension was upgraded with KYB shocks, Eibach springs, and ST sway bars at all four corners, T3 lower control arms, and adjustable tension control rods, while the ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, and bushings were replaced and powder-coated.

The cabin was retrimmed in 2020, with the seats reupholstered in blue vinyl to match the door panels and quilted transmission tunnel upholstery. A Vintage Dashes dashboard was installed along with an MSA heater control panel, a wooden gearshift knob, a JVC CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, and Rockford Fosgate speakers fitted within a trunk-mounted enclosure. The clock, map light, interior light bulbs, pedal covers, and gearshift boot were replaced.
