This 1956 Oldsmobile 88 Holiday Coupe was refurbished circa ~1999, at which time a 455ci Oldsmobile V8 and a three-speed automatic transmission were installed. The car has been refinished in red and white, and the color scheme extends to the refreshed cabin. The car is equipped with 15″ wire-spoke wheels, power steering, a louvered hood and firewall, an Edelbrock Torker aluminum intake manifold, a chrome dual-snorkel air cleaner assembly, a performance cooling system, an auxiliary gauge cluster, and aftermarket speakers.
The car has been repainted in red and white, and exterior details include a split grille, a scalloped hood, custom exhaust finishers, “88” fender emblems, chrome side mirrors, and bullet-style taillights. Close-up photos of the paint, trim, and imperfections are provided in the gallery.
Chrome wire wheels featuring spinner-style center caps are mounted with 225/70 BFGoodrich tires. The car is equipped with power steering.
The cabin features front and rear bench seating reupholstered in white vinyl with red cloth inserts, complemented by red carpeting, a painted red dashboard, and white-and-red door panels. The trunk has been reupholstered in red cloth, and a push-button radio is linked with aftermarket speakers.
The aftermarket steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel-level gauge, and warning lights. A trio of aftermarket readouts is found below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 25k miles, nearly all of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
