This 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS Sport Coupe is a Golden Anniversary Edition that was repainted in “Corona Cream Yellow” and received black vinyl cabin upholstery during refurbishment work completed in 2010. The car is powered by a 409ci V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors that is mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a PosiTraction differential, and it is also equipped with power steering, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, chrome 17″ wheels, and an electric auxiliary fuel pump. The cabin is outfitted with a retro-look stereo, air conditioning, and front bucket seats.
All Golden Anniversary Edition Impalas were finished from the factory in Anniversary Gold, and this car was repainted, reportedly in the PPG shade of Corona Cream Yellow, during refurbishment work completed in 2010. The antennas have been shaved, and further styling details include polished exhaust finishers, engine-turned bodyside trim, and a recessed tail panel.
Chrome five-spoke 17″ wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza RE750 tires. SS examples were fitted with a heavy-duty suspension that included revised front and rear coil springs and shock absorbers. This example is equipped with power-assisted steering and brakes, and red-finished Wilwood calipers are mounted over slotted and drilled rotors.
Trimmed from the factory in Yellow-Gold vinyl, the front bucket seats and rear bench have been reupholstered in black vinyl. Appointments include vent windows, metal trim accents, a retro-look radio, and R134a air conditioning.
