About this car

This 1984 Pontiac Firebird was purchased by the owner in 2025, and it was subsequently modified in the style of KITT from the 1980s television series Knight Rider. KITT-style modifications include a redesigned front fascia, fog lights, a scanner-effect light bar, a rear spoiler, 15″ finned Turbo cast aluminum wheels, a yoke-style steering wheel, a custom fiberglass dashboard, LCD screens, and LED instrumentation. Power comes from a 350ci V8 that was installed under previous ownership and is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Power steering, front disc brakes, removable T-top roof panels, and exhaust headers are also noted.

The car was repainted black in 2025 and features removable T-top panels along with pop-up headlights. KITT-style modifications include a front fascia with plexiglass cut-outs for turn signals and an inset configurable scanner-effect light bar as well as an offset turbo-bump hood, a rear spoiler, and tinted taillights. A speaker system installed under the hood plays KITT-style sound effects.

The 15″ finned Turbo cast aluminum wheels are mounted with 215/70 Milestar Touring SLE tires. Stopping is provided by power-assisted vented front disc and rear drum brakes. The car came equipped from the factory with power steering as well as an independent front suspension with MacPherson struts.

The seating surfaces are upholstered in Camel Tan cloth and are accompanied by matching carpeting, floor mats, and door panels. A ZA Electronica dash set, scanner, and sound unit are fitted. The air conditioning is not functional.

The custom dash is crafted from fiberglass and shares its design with the one used in the television series. Notable details include dual electronic instrument panels flanking the steering column, a pair of working CRT-style screens, and a steering yoke. The digital odometer shows 45k miles, and the total mileage is unknown.
