About this car

Powered by a 392ci V8 linked with a push-button TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in Jet Black over beige leather upholstery. Equipment includes dual Carter four-barrel carburetors, Kelsey-Hayes 14″ wire wheels, whitewall tires, power steering, a power-adjustable front bench seat, lap belts, power windows, and an AM radio. The tan convertible top has been replaced under current ownership, the engine bay was repainted, and the trunk compartment was repainted and blended.

The 300 Letter Series received annual styling updates beginning in 1956, and the second iteration was designated the 300C. The car was produced in pillarless-coupe form as well as a convertible variant such as this example, which is finished in Jet Black (A).

The Virgil Exner–penned “Forward Look” design features quad headlights, a trapezoidal front grille, fender-mounted side mirrors, a power-telescoping antenna, bright trim, reverse lights, tail fins, chrome bumpers, tri-color 300C badging, and a tan top boot. The power-operated tan convertible top was replaced in 2016.

Chrome-finished Kelsey-Hayes 14″ wire wheels are mounted with American Classic whitewall radial tires measuring 235/75. The car was factory equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted drums at each corner.

The cockpit features a power-adjustable front bench seat and a rear bench trimmed in beige leather upholstery along with color-coordinated door and side panels. Interior amenities include power windows, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a push-button AM radio, a heater, front lap belts, black carpeting, and black floor mats.
