2021 BMW R1250GS Adventure 40 Years

Now indicating 2,900 miles, the motorcycle is finished in Black Storm Metallic with yellow accents. Power is provided by a liquid-cooled 1,254cc opposed-twin paired with a six-speed transmission, and equipment includes a factory-lowered and Dynamic ESA electronically adjustable suspension, an enclosed driveshaft, triple anti-lock disc brakes with Brembo calipers, and laced wheels with gold-anodized rims and rim-edge spokes as well as a TFT LCD dashboard, Sargent heated two-up seating, cruise control, a skid plate, and both center and side stands.

The 40 Years variant of the R1250GS was produced to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the introduction of the R80 G/S, and all bikes in the edition were finished in an R100GS-inspired Black Storm Metallic and yellow “Bumblebee” paint scheme. This example was ordered with the Option 719 Milled Parts Package, and additional features include an asymmetrical adaptive headlight, a clear windscreen, Sargent heated two-up seating, a top box, cruise control, an aluminum skid plate, LED auxiliary lights, engine-protection bars, folding passenger foot pegs, and both center and side stands. Detachable BMW expandable aluminum panniers and a battery charger pigtail were dealer-installed in 2021 and 2023, respectively, and are included in the sale.

Gold-anodized 21″ and 17″ rims are laced with rim-edge spokes and wrapped in Michelin Anakee Adventure tires. Anti-lock braking is provided by dual front discs and a single rear disc, all with Brembo calipers. The brake fluid was flushed in May 2026.

The gold-finished handlebar carries heated hand grips and yellow hand guards, and it is secured aft of a 6.5″ TFT LCD color display with a speedometer, a tachometer, a Driving Modes Pro status indicator, and auxiliary-instrument functionality as well as Bluetooth media and telephone connectivity. On-screen functions are managed through a multi-controller located inboard on the left hand grip. The digital odometer indicates 2,900 miles.

The liquid-cooled 1,254cc opposed-twin is equipped with a 510-watt charging system, electronic fuel injection and throttle control, four valves per cylinder with ShiftCam variable valve timing, and a two-into-one exhaust system. Factory-rated output was 136 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque. Due to manufacturer recall, a swingarm drain was retrofitted, the driveshaft was inspected, and a software update was performed under warranty at ~1,800 miles in September 2023 by Sandia BMW/Mini and Motorcycles of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The oil was changed in May 2026.
