1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500

This 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over Black leather and features the SL1 Sport Package, the Adaptive Damping System, xenon headlights, multi-contour seats, and a removable hardtop with a panoramic glass roof. Power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, a deployable roll bar, self-leveling suspension, and 18″ AMG Monoblock wheels as well as a cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, cruise control, and automatic climate control.

The car is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) with contrasting pinstripes and features a matching removable hardtop with a panoramic glass roof as well as the SL1 Sport Package with revised bumper covers and rocker panel extensions. Exterior equipment includes a black soft top, a deployable roll bar, xenon headlights, and fog lights. The front bumper cover and trunk lid were repainted under previous ownership, and the hydraulic cylinders for the soft top were reportedly replaced in 2022. The 18″ AMG Monoblock wheels are mounted with General G-Max tires. The car was factory equipped with a self-leveling suspension with an Adaptive Damping System (ADS). Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with ABS.

The cabin features heated multi-contour seats upholstered in Black leather along with burl wood accents on the doors and center stack. Amenities include seat-position memory settings, a cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The adjustable support function of the seats is said to work intermittently.

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 86k miles, under 1k of which were added under current ownership.
