About this car

Finished in Signal Red over Magnolia leather, it is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ basketweave alloy wheels, fog lights, heated front sport seats, automatic climate control, and a cassette stereo.

Developed under the code name “XJ27,” the initial design of the XJ-S was conceived by aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, with rear buttresses added to improve the car’s drag coefficient. Following a 1991 facelift that provided updated headlights, the Classic Collection maintained quad headlights in deference to Sayer’s original design, and they also feature a gold Jaguar growler hood emblem and edition-specific badging. The example is finished in Signal Red (CFC) and features beige pinstriping, daytime running lights, and fog lights.

The 15″ basketweave alloy wheels were refinished in 2024, at which point they were mounted with Yokohama Avid Touring tires and the upper bushings were replaced. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes.

The cabin is trimmed in Magnolia leather in addition to burl wood accents, and it features heated front seats with power lumbar adjustment, automatic climatic control, a trip computer, and a cassette stereo.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 49k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The Carfax report notes a potential odometer rollback in a June 2024 entry.
