About this car

This 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 previously resided in Colombia, where it was purchased out of by the prior owner, who subsequently had it imported to the US in 2023 and carried out a refurbishment. The work included retrofitting a five-speed manual transmission, performing a repaint in gray metallic, refreshing the interior with power-adjustable front seats and tan leather upholstery, and adding power steering, revised suspension components, and 17″ multi-spoke wheels.

Previously finished in red, the truck was repainted in its current shade of gray metallic during the refurbishment. Exterior details include a white-finished roof and grille, a 13k-lb front winch, LED headlights, fog lights with Biglion X covers, sliding side windows, and rear bumperettes. The windshield wipers do not work, and photographs of blemishes are shown in the gallery below.

Aftermarket suspension components, including a steering stabilizer and shocks, were added under prior ownership along with power steering. The N280 4Runner-style 17″ multi-spoke wheels are mounted with Onyx tires. A matching spare is located on the aftermarket rear swing-away carrier. The front axle has manually locking hubs, while braking is from front discs and rear drums.

During the refurbishment, the interior was refreshed with power-adjustable front seats, which are trimmed in tan leather with quilted inserts and Toyota logos on the backrests. Matching upholstery extends to the inward-facing rear jump seats, headliner, padded dash, and door panels. A Bluetooth-capable Boss Audio Systems stereo and a Vintage Air heater were added under current ownership. There is one tear on the rear of the left-front seat, the upholstery has some creasing, and the power windows operate slowly.

The three-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and frames a 100-mph speedometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 72k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. The horn does not work.
