About this car

This 1972 Pontiac LeMans Sport convertible is powered by a V8 that has been stroked to displace 408ci and fitted with electronic fuel injection, and shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission linked to a rear end with an Auburn Gear carrier and a Yukon 3.31:1 gear set. The orange finish is accented by dual black stripes, and the car has a black soft top, 15″ Rally II-style wheels, Wilwood disc brakes, and Hotchkis Sport Suspension components. Cabin appointments include aftermarket air conditioning, a Hurst T-handle shifter, and front bucket seats trimmed in black with orange piping in addition to a retro-look radio linked to Rockford Fosgate components.

Finished from the factory in Sundance Orange, the car was repainted at some point under prior ownership and has dual black stripes and a black soft top. Details include a split front grille, quad headlights, a rear decklid spoiler, and LeMans Sport and Hurst badging. Blemishes are shown in the gallery below.

Rally II-style 15″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted Wilwood four-wheel discs. The car has power steering, and suspension incorporates Hotchkis Sport Suspension control arms, anti-sway bars, and Fox shocks.

The front bucket seats and rear bench have been reupholstered in black with orange piping, and replacement door panels have been fitted. Cabin appointments include a Hurst T-handle shifter, aftermarket air conditioning, and a RetroSound head unit linked to Rockford Fosgate speakers and a subwoofer and amplifier mounted in the trunk. A blemish on the upholstery of the driver’s seat is noted.

A woodgrain instrument cluster houses a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. Additional supplementary readouts are located in the glovebox. The five-digit odometer shows 91k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
