This 1972 Lancia 2000 is one of a claimed 1,229 HF coupe examples produced between 1971 and 1973. Chassis 001211 was exported from Italy to the US in 2020, and service completed the following year involved overhauling the brake and fuel systems as well as replacing the tires and CV boots. Finished in bronze metallic, the car is powered by a 2.0-liter flat-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. It rides on 14″ Cromodora wheels and is further equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, power-assisted steering, and electronic fuel injection. Inside, tan cloth upholstery is accompanied by a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Veglia Borletti instrumentation, and an Autovox cassette stereo.
A modified version of the preceding Series II Flavia coupe, Lancia’s 2000 featured bodywork designed and manufactured by Pininfarina. This example is finished in bronze metallic and features a driver-side mirror, Carello inner headlamps, and wrap-around chrome bumpers with turn signals integrated into the front.
The silver-finished 14″ Cromodora wheels are mounted with Kumho Solus TA11 tires. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering, and braking is via four-wheel discs. The tires were mounted in 2021, and additional work that year involved rebuilding the front and rear calipers as well as replacing the brake master cylinder, front rotors, front and rear pads, and a number of lines and hoses.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in tan cloth accompanied by color-coordinated door panels. Woodgrain trim adorns the dashboard and door caps, while burgundy carpets cover the floors. Shoulder belts are equipped for the front occupants, and additional appointments include a heater/defroster, a Jaeger analog clock, and an Autovox cassette stereo.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel was repaired and refinished in 2021, and cracks along the rim are shown up-close in the gallery below. Veglia Borletti instrumentation includes a 220-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges monitoring coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 5,400 kilometers (~3,400 miles), approximately 1,000 of which were added under current ownership.
