1972 Chevrolet Chevelle YF3 Heavy Chevy

This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle sport coupe was delivered new to Radar Motors of Parkhill, Ontario, and optioned with the YF3 Heavy Chevy appearance package, a 350ci V8, a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, and Flame Orange paint with white stripes. Further elements include a raised cowl hood, a chrome rear bumper, black vinyl bench seats, rally-style wheels, and long-tube headers.

The car left the factory finished in Orange Flame (65) with white stripes. Work in 2025 consisted of reconditioning the body, aligning the body panels, replacing various trim and weather seals, and repainting the exterior. Elements include a black grille, a raised cowl hood, a chrome rear bumper, polished exhaust finishers, and locking hood pins. Noted paint imperfections are shown up-close in the gallery.

The 14″ six-hole Rally-style wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

The bench seats were reupholstered in black vinyl, replacement carpets were installed, and the parcel shelf and weather seals were replaced during the refurbishment. A Painless wiring harness was also installed, and the heater system was rebuilt with a new replacement core, although the heater hoses were intentionally left disconnected during the summer months. A radio is found in the factory location.
