Under current ownership, the car has been fitted with front and rear IPD anti-sway bars as well as a replacement exhaust system, fuel pump, suspension bushings, and ignition components. The car wears an older repaint in burgundy over gray cloth and velour, and it is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four linked with a four-speed manual transmission. Details include chromed 15″ wheels, hubcaps, a badge bar, and an aftermarket coolant-temperature gauge.
Finished from the factory in Cherry Red (46), the exterior was refinished in its current burgundy shade under prior ownership. Imperfections include dings, dents, damaged brightwork, and painted-over weather seals. The front bumper is equipped with a badge bar, and there is a B18 emblem in the early-style grille.
The chromed 15″ steel wheels have thin-whitewall tires, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The Amazon received an updated seat design beginning in 1964, and the early style “horseshoe” bucket seats of this 1963 example are trimmed in gray cloth and vinyl. The heater controls are stiff, the dashboard wears a carpeted cover, and the headliner and door seals are worn. The left vent window does not seat properly, and the driver’s window requires careful winding to stay on its guide tracks.
The steering wheel wears a brown, perforated wrap and frames a non-working VDO horizontal-sweep speedometer. The factory water-temperature gauge does not work, but a functional aftermarket unit has been fitted beneath the dashboard.
