1955 Ford Thunderbird 3-Speed w/Overdrive

This 1955 Ford Thunderbird had a mechanical refurbishment in 2018 and 2019, and the work included installing a rebuilt 292ci V8, which is mated to a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Refinished in white over a refreshed red and white interior, the car also features power steering, a 12-volt electrical system, a porthole hardtop, a folding soft top, and 15″ wheels with full covers and wide-whitewall tires.

Finished at the factory in Thunderbird Blue (T), the car was repainted under previous ownership, and it has a porthole removable hardtop, a black soft top, electric windshield wipers, and exhaust finishers that are relocated below the rear bumper. The trunk lid and right door were adjusted in 2023. The reverse lights are not working.

The 15″ steel wheels are trimmed with full covers, and they were mounted with Coker Classic wide-whitewall tires in 2018, at which time the power steering gearbox and assist ram were replaced, as were steering linkage components and shock absorbers. In December 2023, the rear wheel cylinders, shoes, and leaf-spring bushings were replaced.

The interior was originally turquoise (C), and it was redone with red and white upholstery under previous ownership. In 2018 and 2019, the dashboard wiring harness, speedometer fascia, turn signal switch, seatbelts, and overdrive cable were replaced along with the heater blower motor, fan cage, valve, switch, control knobs, and bezels.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames an Astra Dial instrument cluster with a sweeping 150-mph speedometer, which was repaired under current ownership. The emergency brake, horn, radio, coolant temperature gauge, cigarette lighter, windshield-washer squirters, and high-beam indicator are not working, and the power seat only moves up and down. Total mileage is unknown.
