This 1949 Ford F-1 pickup, nicknamed, “Chester,” was restored under prior ownership, at which time it was fitted with a replacement 239ci flathead V8. Additionally, the exterior was repainted, the interior was refreshed, and the brakes were overhauled. The 16″ steel wheels feature chrome accents, and additional notable features include a white oak bed floor and side stakes, a hand-crafted pine toolbox, running boards, a cowl-mounted spotlight, and a dual exhaust system with glasspack mufflers.

The truck is finished in Vermillion, and exterior details include chrome bumpers, black-finished running boards with Ford-script step plates, a driver-side mirror, a single windshield wiper, a Unity Mfg. Ford-script spotlight, and dual exhaust outlets.

The white oak cargo bed floor is accompanied by custom-built white oak stake sideboards with routered edges, chamfered posts, and decorative ends styled after the mahogany coamings on John F. Kennedy’s private yacht. A hand-crafted pine toolbox with dovetailed joints has also been added and will accompany the truck.

Body-color 16″ wheels feature chrome hubcaps and trim rings and are mounted with Coker Classic whitewall tires. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners. The braking system was overhauled under prior ownership between 2018 and 2019, at which time the brake fluid was changed and the master cylinder and wheel cylinders were replaced.
